Play Therapy
In keeping with the Early Intervention Initiative, we are committed to working with youth 0 to 10 years of age and their families in this program. Parent-child attachment and behavioral coping strategies are key factors in avoiding the disruption of families with young children. We are committed to working with children who have reactive attachment disorder, disruptive behavior, adjustment disorder, or attention deficit disorder. The majority of children involved in Play Therapy have been abused, neglected or exposed to a traumatic event during their development years.
Program Objectives
- To alleviate family disruptions due to severe emotional disturbance.
- To promote awareness and improved parental understanding regarding the quality of family attachment and its correlation to the development of the social and emotional well being of their children.
- Behavioral therapy is the primary treatment modality utilized.
